Sterling and Ian came to me with an idea that they wanted to nurture into an outdoor lifestyle brand. Company motto: It’s all about space. Rancho Cosmo encourages people to escape reality and embrace nature through practical gear, inspirational guides, curated playlists, and trendy apparel. The branding needed a baseline that’s broad enough to encompass different products and partnerships, but it also needed structure for creative direction to live under. To achieve the versatility and adventurous spirit of the company, I created a brand that ranges from vibrant and celestial to earthy and grounding. Some key sources of inspiration were the desert southwest, outerspace, and psychedelic visuals. The company never came to fruition on planet earth but it lives on in another dimension.
